FaceBook and MySpace are very popular these days. The jury is still out on whether or not these two channels will prove to be good avenues to promote brands and products. So far it's been successful, but the core purpose of these sites is for networking and brands might someday find themselves not welcome on these networks as they try to push their product. Nonetheless, I've worked on a few campaigns (for Gardasil and Travel Channel) where we've used FaceBook to promote either a cause or a brand. Being that this was somewhat uncharted area to a certain degree, these pages ended up winning awards for the purpose they've served.
